STX Beaches


The Buccaneer Hotel - Mermaid Beach

Located East of C’sted. Non-hotel guests are welcome. Beachside food & beverage service.


Buck Island - Turtle Beach 

Located on Buck Island. Considered one of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean. Accessible by boat.


Cane Bay Beach

Route 80 west on the North Shore. Spectacular white sand beach with crystal clear water, breathtaking views and great snorkeling.


Chenay Bay Beach

East end on Route 82 at Chenay Bay Beach Resort. Calm waters. Lots of shade. Restaurant at nearby Bungalows. Bring bug spray for late afternoon no-see-ums.


Coakley Bay Beach

East End. Deserted strip of Caribbean sand. Great for swimming. Not much activity except on weekends.


Columbus Landing Beach

Historic site of the 1493 Christopher Columbus landing at Salt River. Come to see a small historical marker and say you’ve been there. The remains of an earthen fort are reported to be visible on the site marker, which must have been true before the 2017 Hurricane Maria.


Cramer Park & Beach

Near the end of Route 82 on the way to Point Udall. Beautiful sandy public beach & park. Large pavilions with power. Wifi. Bathrooms and showers. Larger Sunday crowds. 10 min drive to closest food and water.


Davis Bay Beach

Located at the Renaissance Carambola Beach Resort & Spa. White sand beach in a spectacular setting. Use the path around the property for beach only, or enter through guard booth for restaurant, bar & dive shop. Fun fact: the last scene in Trading Places, with Eddie Murphy and St. Croix local, Dan Ackroyd, was filmed at this beach.


Divi Carina Bay Beach

Located at Divi Carina Bay Beach Resort and Casino. Public beach accessed by going around the hotel. All food/amenities for guests only. 


Dorsch Beach

Located on west end next to Sand Castle on the Beach Hotel. Sandy beaches with great snorkeling areas. Beautiful sunsets. Restaurant and bar at hotel.

Gentle Winds Beach 

Located on the North Shore at the Gentle winds Condominium. Beautiful white sands in idyllic setting. Access limited to residents & guests of the complex. (Shouldn’t be…?)


Grapetree Bay Beach

On the Southeastern shore of St. Croix. Pristine white-sand beach with a tranquil vibe drawing snorkelers, body surfers & swimmers.


Jack and Isaac’s Bay

(Jack Bay) (Isaac’s Bay) Located on the far eastern end of the island. Beautiful, secluded beaches accessible only on foot. Trailheads to both begin either at Point Udall, Goat Mountain trailhead by the observatory, or from Grapetree Hotel.


Lagrange Beach

Located just north of F’sted between cruise ship pier and Rainbow Beach. White sand, beautiful sunsets. Good swimming & snorkeling.

Hay Penny Beach

beach access. Wonderful strip of white sand with calm waters. No shade.


Pelican Cove Beach

Adjacent to the Palms at Pelican Cove. Palm fringed sandy beach with natural pools and good snorkeling areas. Restaurant & Bar at Hotel.


Protestant Cay

Short trip by water taxi ($5 fee per person) across the harbor from C’sted Boardwalk by Fort. Beautiful beach with view of C’sted & harbor. Restaurant & Bar on the Cay.


Rainbow Beach

Just north of F’sted and cruise ship pier. Wonderful sandy beach with beach bar & grill. Live music. Jet ski rentals & beach volleyball. Chair & umbrella rentals. Calm waters. Great sunsets.


Reef Beach

Located off Route 82 on east end, across from 9-hole Reef Golf Course. Sandy beach, calm waters, good snorkeling. Palm trees for shade. Restaurant & bar adjacent.


Sandy Point National Wildlife Refuge

Spectacular, secluded stretch of beach on the west end. Uniquely pristine, 2 mile long beach. This turtle nesting preserve is only open weekends 10am - 4pm from September to March. No facilities. 


Shoys Beach

East of C’sted. Turn off at Buccaneer Hotel to security guard gate to check in. Proceed to parking lot where road ends and follow the sandy path through the trees to a crescent-shaped beach. No facilities. Private residences border the beach. 


Sprat Hall 

Take Route 63 north from F’sted. One-mile stretch of deserted, rocky beach. Great for exploring.


Sugar Beach 

Located just east of C’sted on North Shore. Sugar white sand. Lots of palm tree shade. Calm water for snorkeling. 


Tamarind Reef Beach

Located at Tamarind Reef Resort & Deep End Bar & Grill. Hammocks, lounge chairs, cabanas and a beach shack with beach games, including sand volleyball and corn-hole. Small fee for hotel non-guests for beach gear rentals.
