TIM REID LAUNCHES LGCY TV

Television Icon and Filmmaker, Tim Reid, has announced the launch of LGCY TV Network in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Initially, the network will begin streaming 3 hours of programming per week on Viya’s TV2 on Channel 4.

This significant development follows nearly a year of discussions between Tim and the UVI Research and Technology Park (RTPark) through its inaugural Entrepreneur-in-Residence program, which played a significant role in facilitating the launch of the LGCY TV Network within the Caribbean region.

“Viya is committed to providing our valued customers with a wide array of high- quality content on Viya TV+ that caters to their diverse interests,” stated Viya’s VP of Public Relations and Governmental Affairs, Jennifer Matarangas-King. “With the inclusion of LGCY TV’s culturally relevant programming on the Virgin Islands’ own TV2, we believe our viewers will enjoy an even more engaging experience.”

Reid, who starred in the hit sitcom “WKRP in Cincinnati” as the lovable disc jockey Venus Flytrap, told the St. Croix Times, “LGCY TV Network intends to deliver content that highlights and shares the history, lifestyles and culture of the African Diaspora. We will be looking to collaborate closely with regional content creators to promote the USVI as an attractive location for creative economy enterprises to operate. LGCY TV Network wants to forge a greater alignment between the Caribbean and the broader film industry, effectively shining a spotlight on the USVI.”
