Before there was Home Depot, there was really only one great hardware store on St. Croix to fill the bill for all your household needs and that was Gallows Bay Hardware.  

It seems as if the Armstrong family, who own the store and basically built the village of Gallows Bay, knew from the start that before all the restaurants and fashionable shops, before the bank, the insurance agency and the post office arrived and filled the storefronts that run along the Wild West street design that makes up Gallows Bay, there would be a need for a hardware store to provide building materials, appliances, electrical and plumbing supplies, all the nuts and bolts and tools to build and renovate the houses that made up the surrounding areas.

Gallows Bay Hardware, aka Ace Hardware, is a jam-packed, go-to store for everything that is home related. They carry quality items that cannot be found anywhere else on island. The staff is very kind and  knowledgeable and ultra-friendly and know their way around the thousands of items that fill the aisles. Employees have been working there for decades, which just goes to show how much the owners value their staff. 

Take a walk through their extensive greenhouse and you’ll realize they also have what amounts to one of the best supplies and varieties of plants and flowers on St. Croix.
