STX Attractions

Arthur Abel Complex

Contact: 340-772-1000

Description: Originally a Danish school built in 1799, currently serving as the Frederiksted Office of the Governor. Redesigned by architect Willian Taylor and dedicated in 2006 to Arthur Abel, a St. Croix joiner and builder. Formerly a hospital, severely damaged by Hurricane Hugo.


Buck Island Reef National Monument

Description: 880-acre national monument including land and water. Ideal for snorkelers and experienced scuba divers. Certified charters available for tours.


Carambola/Annaly Bay Tide Pools

Description: Series of large, naturally formed pools on the North Shore. Challenging hike through the Rainforest with breathtaking views of the Caribbean Sea.


Columbus Landing site

Description: National Historic Landmark where Columbus' second voyage landed in 1493. Plaque at entrance to the beach. Offers a nice beach for relaxation.

Estate Mount Washington Plantation & Ruins

Description: Preserved cotton and sugar plantation, operated by slaves from 1750 to 1912. Restored in the 1980s. Presently a working citrus farm.


Estate Whim Museum

Hours: Mon, Wed, Fri, Sat (Nov-Apr: 10 am - 4 pm, May-Oct: 10 am - 3 pm)

Description: 18th-century plantation with exhibits on sugar mill history and the slave trade. Offers self-guided tours, a gift shop, and fees may apply.


Fort Christiansvaern

Hours: Daily 8:30 am - 4:30 pm

Description: Built between 1738-1749, served various roles including a prison. Offers self-guided tours, maps & booklet, and parking.


Frederiksted Pier

Description: Scuba diving spot with a thriving population of marine & coral life.


Government House

Contact: 340-773-1404

Hours: M - F: 8am - 5pm

Description: Historic landmark used for government offices and the Governor’s residence.


The Green Flash

Location: West End over the Caribbean Sea

Description: Optical phenomenon occurring shortly after sunset or before sunrise, giving the upper rim of the sun a green color.


Hams Bluff Lighthouse

Description: Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2019. Offers beautiful views after a 45-minute hike.


Lord God of Sabaoth Church (AKA The Steeple Building Museum)

Description: Originally a Dutch Reformed Church built in the 1740s, sold to the Lutherans in 1831.


Mt. Pellier Domino Club home of the Beer Drinking Pigs

Contact: 340-227-2498

Hours: Daily: 10am - 5pm; closed Mondays

Description: Rainforest spot offering food and drinks, where visitors can feed pigs non-alcoholic beer.


Old Danish Customs House & Scale House

Contact: 340-773-1460

Description: Historic structure where customs & taxes were collected, served as the first public library in USVI.


Pt. Udall Millennium Monument

Description: Giant sundial marking the azimuth of the first sunrise of 2000.


St. George Village Botanical Gardens

Contact: 340-692-2874

Hours: Daily 9 am - 3 pm

Description: 16 acres botanical garden with over 1,500 Caribbean and Pan-Tropical plants & trees, set against 18th-century Danish colonial sugarcane plantation ruins.
